Want to place a shout out to a great restaurant in Portland Maine – Central Provisions. Owned and run by Chris & Paige Gould. I had spoken to a Jessica who worked there and I was quite impressed with how friendly and helpful they were. I highly recommend you visit them if you happen to be in Maine.

Central Provisions has been a staple as long as Portland has been known for its food with delectable dishes featuring bone marrow, agnolotti, and suckling pig. They also have an extensive cocktail and wine list – so come thirsty. Since there are no reservations here, come at opening, an hour before you actually want to eat or, choose the insider move and sit at the bar, like we did. Expect classy decor, tasty food, and friendly service.
Perhaps the most in-demand tables in town are found at this buzzing New American wunderkind, a recent James Beard finalist for best new restaurant in the nation. The rustic-chic restaurant in the city’s historic Old Port emphasizes cuisine-hopping small plates — from Mongolian braised beef to bone marrow toast with fontina and horseradish creme. There’s a reason Central is entering its fourth year as the darling of Portland’s dining scene, and those continued queues out the door (no reservations are accepted) are testament to unwavering popularity.

Knowing this was for me the first step in solving the problem of how to create anything I wanted in Life.
After all just knowing how to do something and actually being able to do it are two horses of a different color so to speak.
Next he revealed important secrets that seemed very simple and yet the majority of people live their whole lives and never discover these amazing revelations.
This involves solving this problem of “How do we create this unshakeable self-confidence, the kind of unwavering belief that moves mountains and allows a person to get the girl and create for themselves the kind of life that others only dream about.
A hate to ruin the story and give you the last page of the book here, but the way to achieving unwavering self-confidence and belief is simply creating a goal of something you have never done before and than accomplishing that goal. And then doing it again and again.
Now I’m not going to discuss how to set goals, but here is the secret of those who accomplish their goals and those who don’t.
Upon defining that goal or goals, write down 20 things on paper that you believe are items or thoughts, or beliefs that are currently holding you back from accomplishing your goals.
Next focus on what you consider the top 1-3 limitations that are holding you back from achieving your goal.
Now here is what I find exciting. Normally a person will have a couple of major hang-ups (limitations) that are preventing them from accomplishing their major goals in life. So by eliminating these limitations you eliminate the vast percentage of all the road blocks for all of your goals.
The secret I used was to set goals to remove the major limitations from my life. Once I removed these limitations it was like being in a race with a bunch of one-legged men.
After hearing all this Gerry decided with true passion and belief that he was going to be a famous basket ball player.

The door slammed in Gabby’s face. He was lucky his nose wasn’t broken. “Watch where you’re going puddin brain,” one of the more obnoxious students Sam screamed at Gabby. (nicknamed Sarcastic Sam by his fellow students – Sam was the head of the unofficial Big Shot Professional Wing of Mr. Perry’s sophomore History class.
I urge each of you get real clear on what you want to
accomplish each day and what you are striving for down the road. Make a list the night before and define the 6 things you must do each day that will bring you your biggest results. AND Write Them Down. This is what Gabriel did.
Oh and whatever happened to Sam. Well let’s look in, it seems Sam is at a job interview. (He goes through quite a few job’s these days).
Mr Employer: “Well let’s see it says here Sam in high school you were a Big Shot Professional Obnoxious Big Mouth. Can you explain that? And also can you explain, which of the following outstanding past job skills best qualifies you for this position: Broom Pusher, Fry Chef, Box Stacker, Refuse Maintenance Engineer…?”
Hey none of us can go back and make a brand new start, but we can fashion a brand new ending for ourselves starting today. I encourage you to each day define a clarity and focus about what you want to accomplish. In 7 days you’ll be amazed with your new found confidence and sense of direction.

Bob Pareto was the extra special nerdy kid in Mrs. DaVinci’s sixth grade science class. His head was usually buried so deep in a book the standing joke was, “Hey Bob, are you related to the Encyclopedia?”
…they only managed to convince about 10 percent of the people to journey with them to the prosperous land.
The rest of the people said things like: “it would be too risky”, or “we might get eaten”, or “I have a good job and don’t want to lose it”, or “what if I risked going and couldn’t succeed over there.” “Come back later and get us if you are able to get there safely and succeed.” To which the people getting ready to leave said, “We will come back later but you know the first people there will be able to pick the choicest jobs and houses.”
And just like the majority if these towns’ folk the majority of people today can’t see past the wall of their current situation to what could be. They just can’t believe that they could ever get to that far off prosperous land beyond the wall. Their unbelief is the wall that clouds their vision of the future that could be.
But whatever happened to this great story teller. Well Bob Pareto’s stories along with himself have largely been forgotten, but he had a great, great, great grandson named Vilfredo Pareto.
You probably haven’t heard of Vilfredo either, however, you may have heard of the principle handed down to him from his ancestor. Although like any good story it stretches a little in the telling. In the original story above only 10 percent of the people took the action to create for themselves a new destiny.
By the time Vilfredo got the story he created instead the “80/20 Principal” where now 20 percent are accomplishing over 80 percent of everything. You have heard of Pareto’s Law haven’t you?

Learning to ask questions accomplishes the following. It shows you are sincerely interested in the other person. The biggest communication problem that most of us have is the habit of talking too much. This is an absolute
killer when we are trying to sell people.
We must learn to be good listeners, one technique to improve our listening is to repeat back to the person you are listening to the following: “Let me see if I understand
exactly what you are saying….”
In selling we should not talk more than 25 percent of the time. Let the other person do the talking. This accomplishes two things, it leaves the other person with the impression that we really care about them. Also they will
really like us.
The second thing that this does is to allow us to listen for
what their “HOT BUTTON” is. If we learn this we have very powerful leverage to get them to purchase or do what we desire them to do.
The key to learning this is get them talking and then listen. We can become very skilled at this by learning to ask prompting questions like:
If you could live anywhere where would you live?
If there is one thing you don’t like about yourself or would like to change about yourself – what would it be?
Is there anywhere you have always wanted to go or wish you had done?
Once you discover what someone’s “HOT BUTTON” is than you want to keep bringing it up.
At this point in time I know you are saying, “Wow – this seems like a lot of work. Why should I engage in this activity?” And I would ask you the following in all sincerity. “How much do you care about yourself and your
wife and children?”
What all successful people have come to realize is that life is no harder to be extremely successful than it is to be mediocre. In fact in many ways it is much easier and much more fun and rewarding.
What highly successful people have learned is the art of self-discipline..
Discipline is unavoidable – we either learn to discipline ourselves or we let others and events discipline us.
For example if we don’t discipline ourselves to learn these communication skills than we pay the price of marital problems or problems with our kids.
These problems become much more painful than the pain of self-discipline to take the steps to avoid these problems.
It is a proven fact that the best way to get ahead in any career is to improve your communication skills. People with the best communication skills get the best raises and promotions.
Learning these skills above will help you not only to sell yourself in this business but in all aspects of life.
